Held remotely, this Wednesday (24/04), the first day of the 14th Brazilian Lymphome Conference took place. The event is sponsored by the Brazilian Association of Hematology, Hemotherapy and Cell Therapy (ABHH) and brings together students, medical specialists and researchers from Brazil and other countries.

At the opening, Dr. Angelo Maiolino, president of ABHH, welcomed the congressmen and recalled that the scientific society's mission is to advance the specialty in Brazil. “In this edition, the BLC brings internationally recognized experts to update on innovations in lymphoproliferative diseases,” he says.

Dr. Carlos Chiattone, president of BLC 2024, affirms that the event stands out from others in the area, as it brings these innovations and discusses their application in the Brazilian context: “A main point of the BLC is to show how such advances can be made available to our population, as well as to those of less developed countries”.

The lectures made it possible to focus on different aspects of types of lymphomas by specialists from different countries who brought clinical cases. Highlights of this first day were the lectures on Aggressive Lymphomas and the lectures on biological heterogeneity and on the diagnosis and treatment of Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma.

At the end of the sessions with thematic lectures, the participants were able to ask the experts live questions.

Tomorrow (25/04), on the second day of BLC 2024, lectures are scheduled on Mantle Cell Lymphoma, Follicular Lymphoma, Peripheral T-Cell Lymphomas, and Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia.
